چکیده
Background: Epidural anaesthesia is suitable technique for lower abdominal and limb surgery. Compared to conventional epidural anesthesia (EA), segmental (SEA) denotes the use of a small volume enough block only segments involved in field with stable hemodynamics limited spread analgesia. We decided do study SEA surgeries. Aim was observe characteristic sensory motor block, quality analgesia, peri-operative complications. Methods: After institutional ethical committee approval, prospective observational orthopedic surgeries carried out 130 patients 18 60 years either sex ASA grade І-Ш. For SEA, we used bolus dose lignocaine adrenaline (L+A) 2% 8 12 ml injected over 4 minutes according anticipated required be blocked patient’s condition type Top up dosages were repeated every minutes. Quality analgesia total local anesthetic recorded intraoperatively. Results analysed statistically compared using student’s paired ‘t’ test. P value <0.05 considered as significant. Results: Requirement ml, 10 78 patients, 31 7 respectively. In all 1st top given while 2nd 32 only. Intra op MAP remains near baseline. excellent 66 (55%), good 35 (29%) fair 15 (12.5%). Conclusions: concluded that safe reliable hemodynamics, involving minimal side effects.

Anesthesia for patients undergoing orthopedic oncologic surgeries.
When planning an anesthetic for patients undergoing orthopedic oncologic surgeries, numerous factors must be considered. Preoperative evaluation may elucidate significant co-morbidities or side effects secondary to chemotherapy or radiation, which can affect anesthetic choices. Procedures vary in length and complexity and pose challenges in both positioning and in planning to minimize blood los...
متن کاملSegmental epidural anesthesia for percutaneous kyphoplasty:comparison with general anesthesia.
BACKGROUND/AIM This is a feasibility study evaluating whether segmental epidural anesthesia is an alternative anesthetic approach to general anesthesia for percutaneous kyphoplasty. MATERIALS AND METHODS After ethics committee approval was obtained, 52 ASA class I-III patients scheduled for elective, single-level percutaneous kyphoplasty were recruited. The patients were divided into two equa...
متن کاملContinuous spinal anesthesia versus combined spinal epidural block for major orthopedic surgery: prospective randomized study.
CONTEXT AND OBJECTIVES In major orthopedic surgery of the lower limbs, continuous spinal anesthesia (CSA) and combined spinal epidural anesthesia (CSE) are safe and reliable anesthesia methods. In this prospective randomized clinical study, the blockading properties and side effects of CSA were compared with single interspace CSE, among patients scheduled for major hip or knee surgery. DESIGN...

Background and Aims The aim of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of epidural volume extension (EVE) technique in terms of sensory and motor block characteristics along with hemodynamic parameters as a part of combined spinal-epidural anesthesia (CSEA). Materials and Methods A total of 60 patients undergoing hip surgeries were assigned to one of the two groups containing 30 patients ...

Although the mechanism of acupuncture for analgesia is not fully elucidated, a combination of acupuncture and several methods of topical blocks for local anesthesia has been effective to patients with indications for penile surgeries on ambulatory basis. We sought to review this unique clinical application since 1998. To summarize practice-based medical literature contingent this unique applica...
